7/15
Juneau was the port of call today. Another sunny and pretty warm day by Alaskan standards. Of note Juneau is the state capital of Alaska, but there are no roads to the area from the main part of the state.
Our crew was busy. Mark-Jen-Matt and the two little boys went on an eight hour fishing trip and limited out (six halibut and 23 salmon). While Brian and family did a self-guided kayak trip. Katie and family as well as Wendy and I and Sammy and kids headed to the Mendenhall glacier then Wendy, Sammy and kids went on to dog sled training. Very busy crew.
Katie and family experienced King Crab Day on ship for lunch. Certainly stretching the kids palette.
Meanwhile I tried out the Red Dog Saloon in town which dates back to the gold rush days of the town.
Last up was the Tram to the top of the mountain. Great view of the town and the inner passageway.
View from the ship as we left port.
