8/4 - 8/5
8/4- Travel day from Kennicott Mine to Tok Ak. Rained a little on the way over but cleared by the time we arrived in Tok. Much warmer here during day high 70’s to low 80’s.
The campground we are staying at named Sourdough Campground outside Tok is pretty nice. At 7:30 each night they sponsor a game called “Pancake Flip”. Pretty simple just flip a sourdough pancake into a bucket and win a prize. The campground host makes it fun by having everyone introduce themselves with strict limitations. Janet was unable to completely follow the rules. Lots of laughter. The goal was to get two pancakes into the bucket without crossing the bench line. I got my first one in and Mark got his second toss in the Buckit. We both won! Janet and Wendy missed the Buckit both times. I guess it doesn’t take much to entertain old people.
Losers!!
Not fun …… laundry
8/5 - Sights from the road today on our adventure to Tetlin National Wildlife Refuge. Tetlin Lake was beautiful.
Someone should have told us about a 20 mile road construction project on our route. We sat in line for 45 minutes waiting for the Pilot Car to lead us through. Mud everywhere!
Hidden lake
Great end to the day!
