 7/17

Today we explored Glacier Bay National Park and it didn’t disappoint! Today it was pretty clear, but colder in the low 50’s high 40’s, chilly for sure.

We viewed multiple glaciers including one named after John’s Hopkins and of course the most photographed Margerie Glacier, which is 200’ above the water line, roughly 300’ overall in depth at the waters edge. We experienced the glacier thunder just before large chucks of ice clave into the fjord. Wildlife was abundant along the way with whales breaching, bears and wolves on the waters edge. Many sea otters, and seals were also seen along the way.

  1. Finally found the e-mail that had your link to this blog in it! Looks like you are having a fantastic time--hard to beat that scenery. I remember Glacier Bay NP well--beauty all around you, and very remote.
